To use the moon as a tool to create the life you dream of, you need to become aware of lunar cycles and understand the basic principles of manifesting. If you’ve dabbled in manifesting before (more on Manifestation and The Law of Attraction in this post) but found it isn’t quite working for you, this just might be your missing link!
Why Manifest with the Moon
Manifesting in sync with the Moon’s cycles allows us to become conscious creators and deliberate manifestors. We are connected to the Moon as a planet and vice versa. The Moon has eight main phases which keep a cosmic rhythm, tuning into this rhythm can create magical results! Commencing the manifesting process at the time of the New Moon also dramatically increase our chances of achieving our dreams.
Being in touch with the Moon also helps us get in touch with roots in nature, it reconnects us to the Divine, our higher selves and reminds us that there are things so much bigger than work, social media, the gym and what’s on Netflix.
This post is an overview of how to work with the Moon to increase your manifesting potential. I will go into further detail for each phase in future blog posts.
The Moon takes 30 days to go through all 12 signs of the zodiac, spending just over two days in each sign. A New Moon and a Full Moon occur every two weeks, with the New Moon occurring first followed two weeks later by the Full Moon.
In astrology, the Moon is associated with emotions, mothers, parenting, memories, femininity, the Goddess and Wiccan Triple Goddess, witches, women, childhood, cycles, nourishment, heritage, sensitivity, habits, subconscious, nurturing, home and needs.
The Eight Main Moonphases
The New Moon Phase
This is when you start to manifest your dreams by planting the seeds, so to speak. This is a time to look forward, plan and make time for your goals. Recite the mantra I am Blessed and be grateful for what you have and what is to come.
Meditate on your dreams and think about what you do want to tune into your higher self. Do activities that remind you that you’re alive and make time for yourself. Get out your notebook and put your wishes into writing or a drawing, this helps to visualise your dream coming true and when you start to believe it, this is when you begin to manifest! As you write or draw, imagine yourself with these dreams coming true. How do you feel? How do you look? How do you act? You can also read the wishes out loud to further increase the manifestation power.
The Waxing Crescent Moon Phase
This phases allows your dreams to blossom and flourish. As the moon moves from being invisible in the New Moon phase to being in full power at the Full Moon, your dreams are also building in power.
Keep thinking about what you want, return to your list of dreams and read them aloud, visualise them and feel them as if they were fulfilled. Keep your faith and continue to go after what you want.
The First Quarter Moon Phase
This is when the Moon appears as a half moon on its journey from New to Full. It is time to think about your wishes, if you’re no longer committed to them then just let them go. But if you’re still feeling serious about them, take out your list and again read them, feel them and visualise them.
The Gibbous Moon Phase
Spend time going over your list and look at what you’re doing to achieve these goals. Evaluate what is working and what isn’t, then continue on your path of manifestation. Remind yourself to not become impatient and work with the process!
If you have only just caught onto manifesting with the moon but the New Moon has passed, this phase is also a great time to jump in and start your manifesting journey.
The Full Moon Phase
This is the high point of the lunar cycle. Things come to fruition and if one of your goals/dreams/wishes is to come true, now is the perfect time! If it doesn’t, you may receive a strong sign that it is on its way. Remember – some wishes take time, don’t be discouraged! The universe has a plan and we must trust in divine timing while continuing to remember to be grateful, motivated, encouraged and productive.
This part of the Moon cycle is also good for forgiveness and the releasing of bad situations, feelings and karma. Let go, move on and fill yourself with gratitude.
At this time, anyone who is sensitive to the Moon may feel quite anxious or just out of sorts – this is why people often ask ‘Is it a full moon today?’ when crazy events occur or they have a few hiccups in their day with bad driving, customer service and the like… Just a bit of trivia for you!
The Disseminating Moon Phase
If things didn’t come to a head for you then don’t give up! This phase is great for regrouping your thoughts and emotions while taking some time out. Go easy on yourself, relax and meditate but still keep your focus on your goals. Accept yourself and appreciate all the effort you put into your manifesting. Accept yourself and appreciate all the effort you put into your manifesting journey.
It is also the perfect time to share wisdom with others – can you pass on anything you’ve learned during this cycle?
The Third Quarter Moon Phase
It is time to make way for the new! Ask yourself what the messages are behind the challenges and conflicts that you’re facing, you may need a change of course. But don’t be disheartened! Look at how far you’ve come! This part of the cycle can be a crossroads, you need to decide where to go from here and what you want to take into the New Moon cycle that’s coming while deciding what to leave behind you.
The Balsamic Moon Phase
The word ‘balsamic’ comes from the word ‘balsam’ meaning ‘anything healing or soothing’ which is what this last part is the lunar cycle before the New Moon is all about. We have moved on from simple hopes to actual potentials – realisations of what can happen and acceptance of what cannot. Now it is time to allow yourself the chance to heal.
This is the time to live consciously, be easy on yourself, allow hope to guide you on your way to your dreams. We need to learn to surrender to Divine timing, the plan that is made for us and let go. It is also time to let go of anything that doesn’t serve you – relationships, bad habits, drama and so on.
Now that you have an overview of all the moon phases, you will be able to use them to work with your manifestations. Start your own manifestation rituals – grab a note book, write down your dreams and be guided to revisit them at each phase of the moon cycle.
I will be going into further detail about using the New and Full Moons for manifestation in future blog posts. But for now, explore your own rituals and see what works for you!
